- What is TruePix?
- • TruePix is a screensaver application that shows PICT files in a slideshow style.
- • TruePix runs as an application, avoiding conflicts and memory problems.
- • TruePix is a complete application, and does not require any other software.
-
- There are three components to TruePix. TruePixShow is the application that
- actually shows slides. It begins showing slides as soon as it is started, and
- quits when it sees mouse movement. TruePixRunner is a faceless background
- task that acts as a daemon and starts TruePixShow when it detects either a
- timeout or a hot corner. SetCorners is an application which functions as a
- control panel for TruePix.
-
- TruePixShow
- Place some PICT Files in the "•TruePix ƒ•" Folder located on your startup disk.
- If no mouse or key movement is detected in the time period "Delay Time", the screen
- will fade to black and remain so until the mouse is moved.
- You can move the mouse to the hot corner to activate TruePixShow and display the
- PICTs with their true colors.
- You should place TruePixShow it in the System Folder. NO ALIASES PLEASE because
- TruePixRunner can get hung up trying to resolve alias files.
- With QuickTime™, pictures will be dithered to adjust to screen size and depth…
- otherwise the PICT dimensions will not be reduced to fit.
- If PICT depth does not exceed that of the screen, the palette will be set to the PICT's
- true colors … otherwise, if Quicktime™ is not running, the palette will be set to gray
- scale.
- Hold down option key to display PICT name. Hit arrow keys to move back and forth.
- You can Drag and Drop ANY folder containing PICTs on top of TruePix Show to view them.
- If depth is greater than 16 (thousands), then no "special effects".
- If PICT size is greater than 150K, TruePix will attempt to load it in Temporary Memory.
-
- Screensaver CANNOT be invoked when:
- • After Dark™ is in sleep or demo mode
- • Front Window is of Alert or Modal Type
- • Help Balloons are Active.
